New version for MU Multi-Site Manager

David Dean has posted a new version of the MU Multi-Site Manager plugin.

The plugin provides an interface to the underlying multi-site ability of WPMU. The previous version added a few options like:

  • When adding a new site, a blog is added to the new site root, mimicking the behavior of the WPMU install.
  • Can use a special ‘holding site’ to remove blogs from any site.
  • Can delete sites with blogs, with configurable behavior

This new version (ver. 3) adds a few new things but most important is the option to clone sitemeta options when creating a new site.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7)

Do you want to know the ending of the seventh and last Harry Potter book (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows)? If so just go to the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows web site.

Just kidding πŸ™‚ the site does not reveal the ending of the book but it holds an ending contest. There will be two winners. One winner will be selected for coming up with the best ending and the other winner will be selected for coming up with an ending that is most similar to the ending that JK Rowling puts into her book. The first winner of the contest will be selected on the day before Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is released (July 20th 2007). The second winner will be selected two weeks later after weÒ€ℒve had the chance to read the book and draw a consensus on the details of the ending. The person who gets the most facts right will be the winner of the second prize. The prizes are 500$ each! You can already see a number of entries right now.

If you want to keep up with the rumors about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the Harry Potter rumors site is a place to keep a look at.

Slideshare.net slideshows for WordPress MU

Now you can add Slideshare.net slideshows to your WordPress-MU blogs.

Download
Get the slideshre-mu plugin here (just change the .txt extension to .php).

Install
Drop the slideshare-mu.php file into your wp-content/plugin and activate it. If you are running WordPress MU just drop it in the wp-content/plugins-mu directory.

Usage
The usage is the same as it is for wp.com users:

Slideshows and PowerPoint presentations from Slideshare.net can be embedded into your blog posts and pages via a Slideshare shortcode. Shortcodes can be found by going to any slideshow on the Slideshare site and copying the following embed code:

slideshare.png

The code can then be pasted into any blog post or page to make the slideshow show up.

Pmetrics widget for WordPress

If you want to add a Performancing metrics widget to WordPress sidebar you can use this plugin. True, you can just paste the pmetrics code into a text widget but when you are using WordPress MU that will not work. WordPress MU will not allow to paste Jave Script code into posts.

Download
Get the Pmetrics widget here (just change the .txt extension to .php).

Install
Drop the pmetrics-mu.php file into your wp-content/plugin and activate it. If you are running WordPress MU just drop it in the wp-content/plugins-mu directory.

Usage
Add the widget to your sidebar and enter your pmetrics number. The pmetrics number can be found in the first line of the java-script you get from the pmetrics web-site. It is the only number in the line.
